President's Message
Fellow Regentonians,
It is with deep gratitude that I reflect on your electing me to be the President of our Washington DC, Metro Area Chapter. It was with great joy that we gathered in March 2022 at the Thanksgiving Service in celebration of the 177th anniversary of the founding of the Grammar School. We did not only take this as an opportunity to put the COVID pandemic in the rear-view mirror but more so to rekindle our hopes for the future marked with celebration and more reasons to give thanks to whom all thanks are due.

The Sierra Leone Grammar School was founded on 25th March 1845 as Church Missionary Society (C.M.S.) Grammar School - the first secondary school in Sub-Saharan Africa. The school started with 14 pupils, drawn from students of Fourah Bay College and was housed at Regent Square in a massive building which still exists.
Our Endowment Fund
The Sierra Leone Grammar School Endowment Fund is a sustainable source of funding for our beloved alma mater. The fund will enable the school to tackle the growing slate of critical projects. Donations can be made in the form of a gift, money, or property, to the SLGS, the income of which benefits the school.
