Introducing Marcel G. Johnson, Snr.


A native of Sierra Leone, Marcel Johnson is an accomplished professional in Cybersecurity and Healthcare. Mr. Johnson graduated from the Sierra Leone Grammar School in 2000 before immigrating to the USA to pursue further studies.


He attended Western Governors University, where he earned three degrees:

  • Bachelors of Science in Cybersecurity & Information Assurance, along with twenty-four IT certifications.

  • Master's in Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Management.

  • Master's in Public Health: graduating at the top of his class and receiving five Dean's Excellence Awards.


Mr. Johnson holds two prestigious healthcare certifications:

  • Certified Health Data Analyst from the American Health Information Management Association.

  • Certified Public Health from the National Board of Public Health Examiners.


Currently, he works as a Cybersecurity & Communications Security Project Manager with the Department of Defense. Additionally, Mr. Johnson serves in the US Navy Reserves as a Career Counselor (Program Manager) and Clinic Manager. He also holds the position of Chief Election Judge for Prince George's County Board of Elections in Maryland.


He serves as Co-chairman for Western Governors University Alumni Ambassador's program.

Furthermore, he is the Acting Chief Operations Officer and Board Member for Zynith Healthcare & Associates in Greenbelt, Maryland.


In his spare time, Mr. Johnson enjoys reading medical and cybersecurity journals, and he likes to travel and learn new cultures.




 
 

The Sierra Leone Grammar School was founded on 25th March 1845 as Church Missionary Society (C.M.S.) Grammar School - the first secondary school in Sub-Saharan Africa. The school started with 14 pupils, drawn from students of Fourah Bay College and was housed at Regent Square in a massive building which still exists.
